What types of organizations do you fund?

We primarily fund non-profit organizations that align with our mission of impacting education and human services in Williamson County, Texas. Please visit our Grants page for more details about the types of Organizations we serve.

How does my organization apply for funding?

Applications are accepted on an invitation only basis. Unsolicited applications will not be accepted. Applications must be submitted through our online portal once an invitation has been offered.

What does “invitation only” mean?

“Invitation only” means that we pre-select potential grantees based on our mission alignment and other factors. If you would like to make us aware of your organization, please submit Letter of Inquiry (“LOI”) on our Contact Us page.

How do I submit my application?

You can submit your application through our online portal. You will need an invitation from us to access the portal and submit your application.

Can I mail or drop off paper copies of materials?

No. We do not accept paper applications. Any materials mailed or dropped off at our office will not be returned.

What is the W.D. Kelley Foundation Grant Cycle?

While applications are accepted year-round, decisions are made twice yearly when the Board meets. Please keep in mind when submitting an application that a decision may not be immediate. Organizations will be notified by email when a decision is made.

What level of funding should I request in my application?

It is recommended that you contact our Executive Director to determine the level of funding.

Does the W.D. Kelley Foundation require a financial audit?

We do not require a financial audit, but having one can provide a clearer picture of the financial health of your organization.

When will I know if my application was approved or rejected?

Once our Board has made a decision, we will notify the individual who submitted the application.

Why does the W.D. Kelley Foundation discourage funding for capital campaigns and staff positions?

While we recognize the necessity of capital campaigns and staff positions, our focus is primarily on projects and programs.
